Itinerary
Day 1: Depart from your home area in the morning, travelling to Lancashire and our overnight at the Delta by Marriott Preston Hotel. Dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Following breakfast we continue our journey South arriving late afternoon at the Delta by Marriott Peterborough. 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 3: First stop today is historic Stamford for a short break with chance to look around the town. Later we move on to Melton Mowbray. Melton is home of the famous pork pies and is also well known for its cheeses - Stilton and Red Leicester. Sample the local delicacies, enjoy lunch and relax before we head to Oakham, County town of Rutland, England’s smallest county. We have time to look around and explore the lovely little shops and boutiques.
Day 4: Our destination today is a visit to Sandringham House and Grounds, the Norfolk retreat of Her Late Majesty the Queen. We have free time to explore and obtain lunch, before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 5: This morning we are off to the famous University City of Cambridge where we have a full day to explore. The city has many fascinating attractions, not least of which are the many colleges. We start by meeting our guide for a tour of Cambridge ending with a visit to the American Cemetery. Afterwards we have chance to explore the city at leisure and obtain lunch.
Day 6: After breakfast we depart the hotel, journeying to the North East for our overnight stay at the Mercure George Washington dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 7: Following breakfast we depart for the journey home.
