Castle of Mey

Itinerary

We depart early morning and head for Dornoch where you will have the opportunity to grab a refreshment and stretch your legs. We then head to The Castle & Gardens of Mey which boasts amazing views over the Pentland Firth to the Orkney Islands.  The castle was built between 1566 and 1572 and is the most Northerly castle in mainland Scotland. We depart and have a short stop at John O Groat’s for a photo opportunity. We finish our day with a high tea at the Morangie Hotel Tain before heading home via our drop off points later into the evening.

Extra Information

• Please note there should be a variety of shops open in Dornoch as we are visiting it on a Saturday.

• The distance from the car park to the castle is around 200 meters.

• Unfortunately wheelchair access is not currently possible in the Castle.

• Situated beside the car park is the visitor centre where the tearoom, shop and toilets are located.
