The Cairn Hotel dates back the 18th century. It is a charming Victorian era hotel and has maintained many of its original features. Located just a short walk from the town centre and Valley Gardens the hotel is ideal for this holiday. All bedrooms are en suite and have a television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.

Itinerary
Day 1: Depart in the morning travelling to the Cairn Hotel Harrogate for a 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Today we make our way to Leyburn and visit Ceramic Inspirations, where a huge variety of items in all shapes and guises are produced. Next door is the Chocolate Shop where you can treat yourself to something chocolatey! Afterwards, we journey to Hawes where we visit the ‘Cheese Experience’ at the Wensleydale Creamery, home of Yorkshire’s famous cheese. After our visit enjoy free time to look around Hawes home to a variety of antique and boutique shops before we journey back to the hotel.
Day 3: This morning you will have free time to explore Harrogate at leisure. With huge open spaces and broad tree-lined boulevards, antique shops and shopping malls, elegant buildings, abundant greenery, flowers and plants, it is little wonder that the town is a frequent winner of Britain in Bloom awards. Harrogate also boasts the world-famous Betty’s tearooms. Later, we drive to Ripon with its magnificent Cathedral. Here we have time for lunch and a look around before we continue on our way to delightful Masham where we feature a tour and tasting of the award-winning Black Sheep.
Day 4: This morning we travel to Helmsley where we visit the historic walled gardens. The gardens date back to 1758 and host a variety of plant species with the stunning Helmsley Castle providing a backdrop. After your visit perhaps visit Ryeburn of Helmsley, purveyors of award-winning ice creams. Leaving Helmsley, we make for Thirsk and visit ‘The World of James Herriot’, a fascinating tour, including many of the props and three studio sets as featured in the long running TV series based on the life and times of local vet Alf Wright.
Day 5: After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
