Itinerary
Day 1: Departing in the morning we head for the Gretna Hall Hotel for a 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Departing in the morning we travel to Carlisle where you will have the day to enjoy at your own leisure. Why not visit the historic castle or museum, or simply take a stroll around this fascinating city. Carlisle is also well known for its markets, although please note they are not open every day.
Day 3: In the morning we head for Kendal. Kendal is the southern gateway to the Lake District and known for its historic castle, independent shopping and arts of scenery. We will spend some time here before heading to Appleby-in-Westmorland. Appleby-in- Westmorland is an ancient market town tucked away in the Eden. The area has many popular attractions to visit. We return to the hotel late afternoon.
Day 4: This morning we depart and head for Hawick which is the largest town on the Scottish Border and is famous for high quality textiles and knitwear. You will have free time here to explore before we make our way to Selkirk. Selkirk is one of Scotland’s oldest Royal Burgh’s. You will have free time to explore the historic streets which has much to offer.
Day 5: After breakfast, we will set off on our homeward journey.
