DAY 1: Depart from your home area in the morning and travelling to the Copthorne Manchester, Salford Quays Hotel for a 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast. Tea/coffee on arrival.
DAY 2: After breakfast we board for a river cruise, taking in the Irwell and Manchester Ship Canal on a 1-hour heritage cruise. We start at Salford Quays, on the Manchester ship canal before heading towards the city of Manchester and the River Irwell. Along the route, you will hear stories of the Emma Boat Tragedy (1828) and Mark Addy, Salford's lifesaving hero, the 16,000 navvies who dug out the canal, Manchester Liners, and how the canal was a target for Luftwaffe bombers in 1940. Afterwards, we have free time in Manchester to enjoy lunch and some retail therapy.
DAY 3: This morning we make our way to the historic city of Chester, where we spend the day. There are lots of things to see and do. Explore the unique 'Rows' of two-tiered shops, enjoy a stroll around the City Walls, or meander down to the River Dee. Enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants, tea rooms, and pubs.
DAY 4: Today we travel to Liverpool and head for the Beatles Story Museum. The museum follows the journey of how four young lads from Liverpool were propelled to the dizzy heights of fame and fortune from their humble childhood beginnings. This afternoon is free for you to explore the city at leisure. Maybe pay a visit and enjoy lunch at the famous Cavern Club - host to many famous bands including the Beatles or more recently the Arctic Monkeys.
DAY 5: After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
