DAY 1: Depart from your home area in the morning, travelling to the Hilton Hotel, Leicester for a 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.
DAY 2: Our first stop is at Coombe Abbey Country Park, with over 500 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland, and lakeside walks. Explore the Capability Brown-designed landscape, feed the ducks and swans by the lake, or enjoy the formal Victorian gardens surrounding the abbey building. Discover more about the history of the abbey in the visitor centre, wander around the Abbey Artisan Market, or enjoy an ice cream in the Sundae Club. From here we have a short drive into Coventry city centre where the rest of the day is yours to explore at leisure. Perhaps book a Godiva's Cathedral Quarter Walk to learn about the history and heritage of the city, enjoy some retail therapy, or visit the Coventry Transport Museum - home to the largest collection of British road transport in public ownership. The choice is yours.
DAY 3: This morning we have a chance to discover the story of the last English King to die in battle and the first to be DNA tested! The award-winning Richard III Visitor Centre uses 21st-century technology and stunning design to take us from the medieval Wars of the Roses to the discovery of the remains of Richard III under a car park 500 years later. Later we have a free afternoon to explore Leicester. Whether it's a visit to the Guildhall, the cathedral, the Museum & Art gallery, or a spot of retail therapy at the quirky independent shops of Leicester Lanes, you're sure to find plenty to keep you busy.
DAY 4: We begin our day with a short drive to Hoar Park Craft Centre. We have time to stop for a coffee break and a wander around the 17th-century barns converted into retail and craft shops before heading off towards Birmingham. Our afternoon visit takes us to Cadbury World - an attraction dedicated to the sweet stuff! We discover the fascinating history of Bournville with a Heritage Tour. See the making and magic behind the brand in a series of special effect cinema presentations and watch traditional chocolatier demonstrations. We enjoy a light Afternoon Tea in the Cadbury Café followed by an information talk on the Cadbury's brothers vision of a 'Factory in a Garden.'
DAY 5: After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
