DAY 1: Depart from your home area in the morning and travel to The Celtic Royal Hotel for a 4 nights stay with dinner, bed and breakfast. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival.
DAY 2: Our first visit today takes us to the shores of Cardigan Bay and Portmeirion. We visit this unique attraction setting for to cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’. From here we drive to Betws-y-Coed where we have a break with time to obtain lunch. In the afternoon, we head for Bala and enjoy a ride on the diminutive Bala Lake Railway, returning later to the hotel.
DAY 3: This morning, we travel to the village of Llanberis, in the shadow of Mount Snowdon. Here, we board the Llanberis Lake Railway for a delightful ride along the lake shore. We have time to explore and obtain lunch in Llanberis. In the afternoon we take ‘A Majestic Mountain Adventure’ and have a ride on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. This world-famous little train takes you on a breathtaking ride to the top of Snowdon, at 3560 ft (1085m) it’s the highest mountain in England and Wales. The views are stunning, and are not to be missed. On returning to Llanberis by train the coach will meet you and return to Caernarfon.
DAY 4: We begin the day with a ride through the beautiful National Park of Snowdonia to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Here we board the Ffestiniog Railway for an exhilarating ride across the mountains, descending to the sea at Porthmadog. We have time to explore and obtain lunch in Porthmadog before catching the Welsh Highland Railway train which takes us through Beddgelert and all the way back to Caernarfon.
DAY 5: After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
Railways may change to diesel or steam at no given noticed with no price change.
NOTE: The National Grid have been carrying out an essential electrcity cable replacement since early 2021 and unfortunately from September 2025 until November 2026 the railway will unfortunately operate a shorter passenger return train service.Due to this we have reduced the cost of the holiday by £6.00.
