The Peebles Hydro Hotel 4*

Our hotel for this tour is the Peebles Hydro Hotel. Built in 1878 as a health spa, the original building was destroyed by fire and subsequently rebuilt in 1907. Today the hotel is part of the Crieff Hydro group and offers excellent facilities including a swimming pool, spa, restaurant and all the modern-day luxuries you would expect from a hotel of this standard. Set in beautiful grounds, it even has its very own gin distillery producing 1881 gin. This hotel has a lift.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Depart from your home area in the morning arriving at the Peebles Hydro Hotel. 3 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast. Enjoy mince pies and mulled wine on arrival. Drinks package-1 beer, wine or soft drink with dinner each evening.

DAY 2: This morning we drive to Edinburgh's centre to enjoy our day at the Christmas Markets. Edinburgh is a true Winter Wonderland at Christmas time and its festive market is sure to delight. You'lll find gifts galore, fantastic food and Christmas cheer aplenty. Take time to explore the markets, pick up some perfect presents and sample fine festive foods. If you've had your fill of shopping there are plenty of other options to keep you busy. Explore the Old Town, walk down the Royal Mile or head up to the castle.

DAY 3: Today you have a chance to relax and recover from your busy day in Edinburgh. After a leisurely breakfast, you could stroll into Peebles and explore the lovely independent shops and galleries, take a walk by the river or cosy up over a warm drink in one of the town's cafes. Or you may choose to take advantage of the hotel leisure facilities, activities and gardens. Take a swim, book a treatment in the spa or enjoy some fresh air in the beautiful grounds. This afternoon we have a tour and tasting in the hotel's very own distillery. Start with a glass of G&T, discover the Hydro history and all things gin, see the famous copper distillery 'Felicity'still in action and taste a few of the 1881 gins produced on site.

DAY 4: After breakfast we leave and head for home.

Please be aware all of our rooms are released back to the hotel approximately 4 weeks to the departure date. We recommend that you book atleast 2 months prior to the holiday to secure your booking.
