The Shap Wells Hotel, Penrith 3* (Overnight Hotel)

The Shap Wells Hotel is set in tranquil surroundings amongst the Lakeland fells and is an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful corner of England. Set in 30 acres of grounds, the hotel offers well stocked bar, lounges and spacious restaurant. All bedrooms are ensuite and have television, radio, hairdryer and tea & coffee facilities. This hotel has a lift.

The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel, Warwick 3* (Main Hotel)

The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel is a beautiful country house located in the village of Charlecote. It is perfectly located with the historic towns of Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick and Leamington Spa all nearby. All bedrooms are ensuite with TV, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron & ironing board and Wi-Fi. This hotel does not have a lift.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Depart from your home area travelling to the Shap Wells hotel for our overnight stay, dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 2: After breakfast we depart the hotel continuing our journey to Stratford-upon-Avon arriving at the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel for a 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 3: This morning we visit the fantastic Sudeley Castle and Gardens, located in the heart of the Cotswolds. The castle hosts exhibits of fascinating treasures, from ancient roman times to the present day. Outside, the castle is surrounded by a breathtaking 1,200-acre estate and ten award-winning gardens. The centrepiece is the Queen's Garden, a must see on this excursion. This afternoon we visit the spa town of Cheltenham, located just outside of the Cotswolds. Walk down the promenade, considered one of the most beautiful in the country with its tree-lined avenue flanked by smart shops and cafes.

DAY 4: After breakfast, we head for Hidcote Manor Garden, an arts and crafts garden in the North Cotswolds, just a stone's throw from Stratford-upon-Avon. Explore the maze of narrow paved pathways and discover secret gardens, magnificent vistas and plants that burst with colour. Later this afternoon we travel to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare. We have plenty of time to wander the streets looking for a bargain in an independent store, or maybe visit Shakespeares birthplace to learn more about the man himself.

DAY 5: Painswick Rococo Garden is the only surviving garden of the Rococo period open to the public. Instead of an orderly flower garden, this is a haven of peace and tranquillity to explore, with quirky features sprinkled around to tickle your fancy. Gloucester is next this afternoon, where we can enjoy the afternoon amongst the pretty cityscape. Perhaps visit the quayside, dockyards and museums, maybe enjoy lunch in the town or visit the high street for some retail therapy.

DAY 6: After breakfast we for our journey North arriving in Cumbria and the Shap Wells hotel for our overnight stay dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 7: After a leisurely breakfast we depart and head for home.

Please be aware all of our rooms are released back to the hotel approximately 4 weeks to the departure date. We recommend that you book atleast 2 months prior to the holiday to secure your booking.
