Our hotel for this tour is the Peebles Hydro Hotel. Built in 1878 as a health Spa, the original building was destroyed by fire and subsequently rebuilt in 1907. Today the hotel is part of the Crieff Hydro group and offers excellent facilities including a swimming pool, restaurant and all the modern-day luxuries you would expect from a hotel of this standard. This hotel has a lift.

DAY 1: Departing from your pick up point, we will head for the Peebles Hydro for a 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.
DAY 2: This morning we depart and head for Scotland’s capital to visit the magnificent Edinburgh Castle for a guided tour. Please note this tour takes place outdoors and requires visitors to walk on steep and cobbled walkways. After the guided tour enjoy the castle at your leisure before having free time in Edinburgh, returning to the coach later in the day. For this excursion the coach will drop you near Edinburgh Castle and meet you later in the day at a central pick up point, this means you will be required to make your own way to re-join the coach. Please note that walking will be involved.
DAY 3: Today we visit the historic Traquair House for a guided tour, where you’ll uncover the fascinating stories behind Scotland’s oldest inhabited home, explore its elegant rooms, and stroll through the peaceful grounds. After the tour, we return to Peebles Hydro, where you’ll have free time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s excellent facilities.
DAY 4: Today we visit the stunning Abbotsford, the former home of Sir Walter Scott, where a guided tour will take you through its richly decorated interiors and fascinating literary history. After exploring the house and gardens, we’ll enjoy a delightful afternoon tea in the on-site café, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the estate. We then return to Peebles Hydro to relax at your leisure.
DAY 5: After breakfast, we will set off on our homeward journey.
*Please note a lot of walking is required when in Edinburgh.*
