Cairngorm Reindeers

Itinerary

Departing in the morning we head to the Craiglynne hotel for a festive fly cup which consists of a tea/coffee or hot chocolate followed by some shortbread, festive cake and scone. We will then head to the Cairngorm Reindeer centre where you will visit the paddocks and reindeer exhibition. The reindeer can be seen up close but please be aware that you can’t go directly in with them. You will then enjoy a short session with a reindeer herder where you will learn all about the reindeers and their surroundings. Later we head to the Cairngorm Mountain Railway centre where you will take a ride up the 2km Funicular Railway. Enjoy the breathtaking views or why not purchase a refreshment in their café. We depart late afternoon.

 

Extra Information

• Weather Conditions-The Paddocks, where the reindeer are located, are outside and Scottish weather can be inclement at any time of year. Even in summer a waterproof jacket and warm layers are often required. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are prepared.The Exhibition area is undercover.

• The Paddocks are located immediately adjacent to the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, and very little walking is involved. They have full disabled access to both the Centre and the Paddocks.

• The Mountain Railway is open daily (weather permitting).
