Itinerary

DAY 1: Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to the Lake District and arriving at the Skiddaw Hotel in time for dinner. 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 2: Today is a free day for you to explore our base of Keswick at your leisure. From our centrally located hotel you could stroll down to Derwentwater where you may wish to take a cruise, or you may want to enjoy some retail therapy in the town's boutique shops. There is plenty to do and see here-perhaps visit the Keswick Museum or even the Keswick Brewing Company.

DAY 3: After breakfast today we will travel South first making a stop in Grasmere, a well-known Lakeland village famous for its gingerbread. Afterwards we continue to Bowness-on-Windermere, a bustling tourist hotspot with independent shops, the Beatrix Potter Museum and plenty of places to eat. This afternoon we travel to Kendal, home of the 'mint cake'. Kendal boasts a fine selection of shopping arcades, two castles, museums, a host of historical buildings and stunning views. You have time to explore before returning to the hotel.

DAY 4: Leaving the hotel, we head towards Penrith where there is a chance to look around the town before we travel along Ullswater-regarded by many as the most beautiful of all the lakes. We reach the small village of Glenridding where we will stop for a break before we then continue over rugged Kirkstone Pass to Ambleside. There is a chance to browse the independent stores of the town before we continue back to the hotel along Lake Thirlmere.

DAY 5: After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journey.
