The Barn Hotel Grantham is a delightful tranquil retreat set in beautiful Lincolnshire countryside near the village of Marston. The hotel prides itself on the quality of its food and hotel facilities include a Health Club & Spa with indoor swimming pool, sauna and spa. All bedrooms are ensuite with television, telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Depart from your home area travelling to the Barn Hotel for a 3 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 2: We drive to the historic city of Lincoln with its magnificent cathedral, and next to it the Norman Castle. We meet our guide for a familiarisation tour of the city on the coach. Later in the day, we enjoy a guided tour of the cathedral. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore with plenty of tea rooms to keep you going with refreshments.

DAY 3: Enjoy breakfast before heading off to the seaside town of Skegness where we have time to explore, enjoy a stroll along the seafront or perhaps have some lunch. From here we visit the historic town of Boston famous for the Stump (St. Botolph's Church).

DAY 4: After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel travelling to the Best Western Lothersdale Hotel. 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast. Tea/coffee will be offered on arrival. Hotel entertainment is provided on two evenings.

DAY 5: Today we have a free day to discover Morecambe.

DAY 6: Travelling through the scenic Lune Valley, we head for the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park. We climb into the Pennines past the famous viaduct at Ribblehead. We continue across the moors to the market town of Hawes, where we visit the 'Cheese Experience'at the Wensleydale Creamery, home of Yorkshire's famous cheese.

DAY 7:'High Adventure'! The 'Mountain Goa't minibuses take us where large coaches cannot go. This is a wonderful day, taking in the mountain passes of the Western Fells-Wrynose Pass, the desolate Duddon Valley, awesome Hardknott Pass. See the lonely Roman Fort as we descend into Eskdale for a ride on L'al Ratty-the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, before seeing Wastwater (voted Britain's favourite view) and then visiting Muncaster Castle Garden and Owl Sanctuary. From here we return to the hotel via the southern fells.

DAY 8: We leave after breakfast and begin our journey home.
