Itinerary
Day 1: Depart from your home area travelling to the Holiday Inn Dumfries for a 3 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast. There will be a welcome drinks reception in the lounge this evening followed by dinner.
Day 2: Enjoy a hearty Scottish breakfast this morning followed by free time to explore Dumfries town. Perhaps visit Robert Burns House, enjoy a stroll along the River Nith or browse the shops. We head back to the hotel for a light lunch and a hot drink to warm up. This afternoon we have a visit to Annandale Distillery for a guided tour, giving us a glimpse of the history and production of their single cask whisky. Back at the hotel, the lights come down and the music is turned up to see in the New Year with a party and Around-the-World Buffet with a champagne toast at midnight.
Day 3: Happy New Year! - Enjoy a lie-in after the evening festivities with a leisurely breakfast served until 10 am. Later in the morning, we head out for a scenic drive along the Solway Coast passing through Kirkbean, Dalbeattie, Dundrennan, and on to Kirkcudbright. Known as ‘The Artists town, we make a short stop in this pretty fishing port with time to explore at your own pace. We head back to Dumfries via Castle Douglas. This evening a Carvery Roast Dinner.
Day 4: After breakfast we depart and head home via our drop off’s.
