The Argyll Hotel is located in the town of Dunoon, close to the sea and our excursions during this tour. All bedrooms are en suite and have television, telephone, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.

Day 1

Depart from your home area in the morning heading for Dunoon, crossing via the Gourock Ferry. We arrive late afternoon at the Argyll Hotel. Four nights stay -dinner, bed & breakfast. Hotel entertainment on three evenings.

Day 2

Today is free for you to explore your new surroundings in Dunoon. Make your way into the town - a pleasant walk along the promenade, enjoy a relaxing lunch and watch the world go by.

Day 3

A spectacular sightseeing tour today. We visit the lovely little white-washed town of Inveraray. There is time for a look around and obtain a drink and bite to eat before our afternoon visit to magnificent, unique and fascinating Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll (Featured in Downton Abbey as Duneagle Castle).

Day 4

This morning we have a sightseeing drive around Bute, after crossing by ferry from Colintrave to Rhubodach, ending with a visit to the superb Mount Stuart House. Set in 300 acres of woodlands, the house is known as Britain's most spectacular Victorian Gothic House. It is an architectural fantasy of the 3rd Marquis of Bute. Set 5 miles south of Rothesay this is an ideal way to end the tour, the house and grounds offer the visitor lots to see.

Day 5

Depart the hotel heading for your home area.
