Chocolate Heritage of York, Scarborough, Lincoln

Day 1

Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to East Yorkshire, arriving at the Forest Pines Hotel. 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2

This morning we journey North to the seaside resort of Scarborough. The morning is free for you to explore Scarborough at leisure. You have the chance to grab lunch perhaps take the opportunity to enjoy fish and chips by the seaside. This afternoon we journey back south making a visit to the Ryedale Vineyard, an award winning winery at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. We will enjoy a tour of the winery, learning how much dedication goes into producing their wine. With all aspects of wine production from pruning to harvesting to pressing, fermenting, bottling and labelling being carried out by hand on site. Our tour will end with a tasting.

Day 3

After a leisurely breakfast we head the short distance to the historic city of York. We begin with a visit to the 'The Chocolate Story', which takes you on a guided tour of the history of chocolate making in York, including the Rowntree's factory which opened in 1890. Afterwards the rest of the day is free for you to explore this fascinating city with lots of attractions to keep you busy, such as the National Railway Museum, Jorvik Centre, the City Walls, the little streets and alleyways in the centre, not forgetting York Minster.

Day 4

We drive south over the Humber bridge to the historic City of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral, and next to it the Norman Castle. Your free at leisure to explore the city. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore-there are plenty of tea rooms to keep you going.

Day 5

After breakfast we depart for home.
