The Crown & Mitre Hotel stands in the centre of Carlisle and offers the perfect mix of Edwardian grandeur and beautiful original features, including an elegant sweeping staircase, plus all the modern comforts of home to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Hotel facilities include a swimming pool and jacuzzi. All bedrooms are ensuite and have television with Freeview, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Depart from your home area in the morning, arriving at the Crown & Mitre Hotel. 4 nights stay dinner, bed and breakfast. Tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival.

DAY 2: Today we travel to Dumfries where you are free to explore at your own leisure. Perhaps visit the Robert Burns House, enjoy a stroll along the River Nith, browse the town's shops or find a spot for lunch. Later we visit Annandale Distillery where they use traditional methods to manufacture single cask single malt whisky. We enjoy a tour of the facility learning about the production. As a memento of our tour, we will receive a gift pack containing an Annandale Whisky glass and a mini bottle of Annandale Whisky to enjoy at home.

DAY 3: Today is free for you to explore Carlisle at your own leisure. Perhaps visit Carlisle Castle, the cathedral, or browse the high street shops for souvenir gifts.

DAY 4: Today we take a scenic drive into the Lake District to the pretty town of Keswick on the banks of Ullswater. The town has a range of shops, galleries, and interesting places to explore. Later we journey to the pleasant town of Penrith where we have a chance to look around the town before returning back to the hotel.

DAY 5: After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journey.
